Choose which types of severe weather alerts you want to receive from your choice of over 60,000 locations from the National Weather Service! You can receive warnings, watches and advisories on events such as tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, earthquakes, fires, storms, environmental disasters and more. Even be alerted via email or SMS text message during a power outage or when you are away from your wireless display!
Weather Direct Internet-Powered Wireless Weather Forecasters works without Wi-Fi, there is no software to install, and the forecasts are totally free. No subscription required. The included TX-50U wireless temperature sensor monitors your backyard temperature. You can also monitor your backyard temperature from anywhere in the world with your free membership to theweatherclub.com.
Weather Direct allows you to select free forecast information from over 60,000 locations in the United States and Canada including your hometown, golf courses, parks, sports venues and more. You can change the location as many times as you like. You’ll receive forecasts for the current day and up to three succeeding days, plus micro forecasts for morning, afternoon, evening and night. The station also displays the current indoor and outdoor backyard temperature, plus the daily sky condition and hi/low temperatures.
Weather Direct requires a high speed (broadband) Internet connection. The WD-3302U-MF-WAL includes a Gateway that connects to weatherdirect.com. You don’t need a wireless router and the display unit is never physically connected to your computer. A PC is only required for one-time easy set-up or to customize features. The included Gateway connects to your Internet router with the supplied LAN cable and receives electrical power by the supplied AC power adaptor. The Gateway wirelessly transmits information to the display unit, with a range of up to 300 feet.
In addition to your standard location, Weather Direct allows you to monitor four more forecast locations on your Wireless Display, for a total of five. This option allows you to keep an eye on the weather in other places in addition to your primary location, like where your kids go to school, your favorite vacation spot, your parents' house and more.
